Melissa van Vliet

Director of Research

Melissa joined The Klesch Collection in 2020 after having held various roles at two London auction houses, including as Head of Sales, Old Master Paintings. She also worked as a freelance researcher and advisor for auction houses and private clients.

In her current role, Melissa is responsible for all research concerning acquisitions and paintings held in the collection. She has a particular interest in provenance research and enjoys delving into archives. Other responsibilities include searching for potential acquisitions, liaising with museums and academics and assisting with the production of the collection’s academic publications.

Melissa, originally from The Netherlands, holds a bachelor’s degree in History of Art from the University of Amsterdam and a master’s degree in History of Art from UCL.
