The collection expands with a major acquisition soon to be on public view, reaffirming its dedication to making exceptional works accessible to the public.

London, 29^th April 2026 – The Klesch Collection is delighted to announce the acquisition of The Virgin and Child Enthroned by Alessandro di Mariano Filipepi, better known as Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445–1510), following an export bar placed on the painting in 2025.

This beautifully executed image of the Virgin and Christ Child by one of the leading figures of the Renaissance will remain in the UK and will go on public view for the first time in over 80 years at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. As such, it represents a significant addition to the body of works by Botticelli held in UK collections.

We believe the Ashmolean Museum is the most appropriate venue for displaying the painting and thank them for welcoming such a prominent work.’
